We are happy to welcome you to the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics. On this page you find a lot of useful information, including the schedule of the coming days. Please study this material carefully.

and the academic orientation session

held the same morning, at the same address, ie

on September 10th   (Monday) 8:00 AM, Room 102


Please note that your participation in the academic orientation session is absolutely necessary!

During the academic orientation session we cover all basic information regarding your academic life during the next semester, while at the Welcome Party you will have a chance to meet most of your professors for the first time and discuss details of the forthcoming classes, or simply ask questions.
As the room may change the last minute, please look for the signs inside the Bethlen tér building

Courses will start in the same building on September 10th (Monday) morning at 10:15, i.e. right after the orientation.

The (brief) calendar of the semester is as follows:

Pre semester important dates

August 21st (We), Hungarian language course starts
August 21th (We), 1:30 pm Practical orientation for those who are already in Budapest; see language school schedule
August 29th (Tue), Pre-registration data is due (questionnaire will be sent out by Aug 22nd)
Sept 5th (Thu), Hungarian language course ends.
September 8th (Sat), 1:30pm Make-up practical orientation at BSM (at Bethlen Gabor Square 2; for those who did not take the language course)
September 8th (Sat), 4pm Living in Budapest ("hands-on city experience tour")

Fall 2018 Opening Program

Comments:
  1. October 23rd Tuesday is a National Holiday in Hungary and the 22nd is also off, resulting in a long weekend for October 20-23.
  2. November 1st, Thursday is a National Holiday with November 2nd off, resulting in a long weekend November 1-4.
  3. The Friday (Nov 23rd) following Thanksgiving is also off, resulting in a long weekend Nov 22-25.
  4. However, October 13th and November 10th, both Saturdays, are workdays. October 13th we will have a Thursday schedule and November 10th a Friday schedule.
